In myy analysis i have to reduce the displacment coming in DY direction. For that in place of +Y i have used Y type support. while doing so i have reduced the displacement in that particular point by my question is
how i will ask the construction people to give support from top as well on that particular point? (that is from +Y support to Y support) Shall i ask them to use clamp or else please me.
I hope my question is clear to you all.

for Y support you can use (1) u clamp or (2) rest with hold down type of sypports. please ensure that you have provided gap - in y direction also shall be informed to suport department.

You can refer anvil catalog for various types of supports, you will find the support type which you required. In case if you are using clamp this will arrest the lateral displacement, it will act as a (guide) + (-Y). So, wider guide gap (more than the expected lateral displacement) clamp will work for your purpose. This type of support with allowable loads are available in anvil. This is just my opinion, pls correct me if i am wrong.
