Dear all,

Suppose Restraint Summary reflects Loads on the nozzle in the SUSTAINED CONDITION is positive value (Upward direction), then what should be our view on it .

Query)

Q1) Do my calculation process is in wrong direction ?

Q2) If this is normal practice , then how can load on the nozzle is possible in Upward direction in SUSTAINED CONDITION ?

Check your output. Try to understand the forces and moments that act through the system, and how they affect supports and restraints.

Your supports are probably poorly located. If there is an our-of-balance, an upward reaction may occur at any fixed support, nozzle or otherwise.

Bhavya,

Also check whether the Cnode is on euipment or on piping?

Interchanging this will result in change of sign of forces!!!Ensure that you have quoted Cnode correctly ...!!!

Keep Smiling...

It always helps....

Bhavya singh,

if Cnode is correctly located towards equipment from piping nozzles as described by SJ.And all other parameters right.
Then one of the support near to your nozzle is creating fulcrum.
This fulcrum can do this kind of force.Due unbalance in the system.
