Hi,

I am analysing a line connected to a tank with diameter 30m. I am using the stiffness values for nozzle calculated by Ceasar-II. my L/2a value is coming more than 2. But in API 650 Appendix P graphs are provided for L/2a value upto 1.5. So My question is how Ceasar is calculating stiffness values for this nozzle?

Thanks in advance for ur help...

If your L/2a value exceeds 1.5, CAESAR II uses the charts for L/2a=1.5.

If your L/2a value is less than 1.0, CAESAR II uses the charts for L/2a=1.0.

If your L/2a value is between 1.0 and 1.5, CAESAR II interpolates between both sets of charts.

Generally, you may go for WRC-297 flexibilities for nozzles of tanks with dias less than 36m. & above 36m API-650 can be used.I hope it helps!!!
