Dear all,

I am using cii 5.1(build 080512),When i open the windows "Load Case Options" , The software show many columns, such as "Load case name","Out put status" ,"Comb Method" etc.

Other than these columns i familiar with, there is one column namly "Buoyancy", What's this OPTIONS for?

Does anybody know?
Thank you very much!

Buoyancy is for the offshore Codes. This is handled automatically by the software. That column is reserved, you shouldn't see it.

Can you e-mail a screen shot of this to techsupport@coade.com?

Yes, Richard Ay ,You are right.

This column is hidden, and you can't see.

If you duble click the column boundary, this column will appear.

It is the same way to hide and show a column in microsoft windows EXCEL.

I will e-mail a photo to techsupport@coade.com.

I have not applied buoyancy before, and I just wondered what triggers CAESAR II to account for buoyancy when offshore codes are applied, i.e. how does CAESAR know when the piping is below water or not.

CAESAR II knows which pipe elements are submerged because:
a) you set the starting nodal coordinate (or you're supposed to)
b) you define the water depth
c) you define the free surface elevation

Anytime you include WAVx in any load case, CAESAR II assumes "W" is "W+Buoy", for all load cases.
