Despite reading the post for "Flexible hoses" in this forum, I could not get the answer for "Does the pressure thrust occur when flexible hoses are used?"

For expansion joint, I know that pressure thrust comes into play and that we have to design the equipment (Foundation) and the support(s)against the thrust force.

For flexible hose, I need opinions.

If Pressure thrust occurs, then I request thoughts about how to include the effects of the thrust in the design of foundations.

Thanks.

It depends onyour type of flexible hose. Most hoses resist the force generated by (pressure x area) with woven filaments in the wall or in the outer jacket.

Is the same true for metallic hoses also. Should pressure thrust be considered?
