Hello "pipers",

This is the first time I am doing stress analysis for skid on FPSO.

There are two cases 1)Operational 2)Transit. to be considered for analysis.

In both cases, I am considering Surge,Sway & heave effect. Can somebody explain to me how to simulate these conditions.what actually happens to the skid on FPSO.Mainly I am intersted in understanding load cases.

I have tried to build load cases based on some references but I am not confident about it.Can somebody assist me in understaing these things.

My operational case in passing in stress but transit case is failing (not sure why???_Note acclerations are different for both cases).

I am attaching both of these files here for your valuable input.

Load Cases for Transportation (Towing) Conditions

A special calculation with towing conditions shall be performed in order to check loads on supports and stresses during towing.

Except Fire water ring and cooling water headers, all the pipes shall be considered empty. No temperature shall be taking into account during towing.

Stresses induced by structures displacements (D1) shall be checked during towing (same displacements as for site operation shall be used, the acceleration during towing is greater but the same is lower).

Lines shall be calculated connected on equipment, except otherwise indicated.

Hogging and sagging during towing are not signification and are not to be taking into account.
