Hi,
I have a piping system that is extremely tight and due to maintanance and not to put too much load on the adjacent elbow dummy leg I would like another support.
The only option I have is to weld a shoe with Tee post or Dummy leg on a bottom of a Tee.

I would like to know if there are any issues that I have to look out for?

Is this possible to weld onto tee without losing the B16.9 rating and having to engineer the tee again?

It's a 14" line std. weight.

All comments would be much appreciated.

Hi DeGoose

1)Better to avoid support under TEE
2)If non insulated line you can rest Tee on structure without any weld attachment.
3)If shoe or dummy need to weld with Tee it will influence SIF, Try to be more conservative on it or get accurate SIF by FEM.

Use a Clamp-On Shoe under the TEE. You should have no [problem.
