Dear All,
I need to analyze surge case in my piping system. It is Pipeline system that use for distribute Solar Diesel, in this case ineed to analyze line from Pump to Filling Shelter that use for unloading Solar Diesel from Tank to Truck. The problem is that the PRV make a noise. Drawing can bee see at the attachment below.
The line is 6" in size, the pump 1s 100 m3/h, length from discharge to Bottom Loading arm at Filling shelter is 40 m. Discharge Pressure 5.31 bar, system design pressure 8 bar, system design temperature 48 C. Code ASME B31.4, with pipe material A53 Grade B.
I want to model from discharge nozzle to line at filling shelter (Bottom Loading Arm), the problem is i can't make it as one model because as you see at the drawing there is a Corrugated Metal Hose with sigle Braid after the line PRV in Discharge Line, as i have read before in this forum that we don't need to model this Metal hose or if we model it, just model it as half part and give restraint/support after it.
For information it is not causing by cavitation because the NPSHa is Above NPSHr, for vibration case there is a Single Braid MetalHose that take care the expansion and vibration.
so my question here is there a method that i can use to analyze this system or can you enlighten me please about how must i model this case in CAESAR II, so i cancheck water hammer case?

I can't download it either, but 25 others did. I'm not sure what the problem is. The best solution would be for Dylan to upload it again.

Hi All
I find that for CAESAR II file or dwg file sometimes it create problem to download from this forum.
Better make it with Zip file or Rar file then it work fine for download.

Hi Dylan
What do you mean by PRV make noise.
Is this when PRV is in operation to release pressure or all the time when PRV is not acting by only vibrating?
In caesar you can add water hammer force calculated by fluid flow software like ''flowmaster''

Yes, It is when PRV release pressure.
Ok, so if i get this force from calculation or using Flowmaster, how do i must modelling the system?
Is it only from discharge nozzle until half of the Corrugated Metal Hose?
or is there any other way for modeeling this system?

Thanks With Regards

Hi Dylan
If there is a problem when PRV pop up, I suspect there could be following problem
1) Not enough & right type of support at PRV discharge line
2) Something wrong with PRV design.

For Water hammer case force extracted from flow master need to feed in affected elbow as force with DLF factor in caesar model.
