Shabeer,

It is not clear what you are asking for. Perhaps you should begin by reading about pipe support design (get a better understanding of pipe terminology before you address how pipe supports should be modeled. Go here to read some background information:

http://pipingguru.wordpress.com/2008/03/01/pipe-supports/

Look at page 76 and associated page in this document:

http://www.pipingdesigners.com/downloads/process plant piping overview.pdf

Find a copy of the book "The Piping Guide" and go to page 26 and see figure 2.72.A

There has been much discussion o dummy leg supports and trunnions here on this forum over the years so you can use the search facility (upper right corner of this page) to find previous discussions.

Regards, John.

In CaesarII 5.1 help menu- on line doccumentation- applications guide-search with the word "dummy". PDF document is better for searching. Dummy is a pipe attached at the elbow or straight pipe for supporting the pipe. Trunnion also is another word. This helps to reach to a nearby structure. Note that this is an extension. If welded at the elbow it can reduce the flexibility of the elbow.

Attached is a small sample file. Treat this as a sample only to see how the horizontal dummy attached and used as a vertical restraint at an elbow. Similar method can be adopted for vertical dummy also. Do some trials.

Welding details are to be developed accordingly. Same size pipe can not be welded at the elbow, so we use smaller pipe. We consider one size above the half size of main pipe for trunnion. So 6in will be used for trunnions on 10in main pipe.
