We have a debate in the office that if we should modify the pipe route for system. We have a 5 deg RX rotation(generate torsion) along the pipe line in displacement report; however, there has been no overstress in both sustain and exp cases. What limit do people use in general for rotation?

Very appreciate an advise.

What makes it rotate 5 degrees?

One of the assumptions in using CAESAR II is that rotations are small - so they can be added vectorially. Five degrees isn't that small.

We have forces and moments from the client at the interface.

We have 2 horizontal parellel lines 1.5m apart coming out in X dir. Then elbow and up 2m(risers); then elbow (into Z/-Z dir) and the 2 lines connect to each other. Middle is a tee going horizontal(X dir) with a lateral (Z) guide on the horizontal run.

I believe the rotation is from Mx(expansion from tee X riser hieght). The 2 parellel lines are sitting on a moving Y+ that we could not stop the rotation. 5 deg rotation starts from the interface.

Could not attach any sketch. Hope you get the picture. Thanks.
