For example, one element has nodes from 10 to 20. If I try to add a restraint on node 15, an error message would come up after "start run":

NODE NUMBERS given in the RSTRAINT spcification on element 10 to 20 are NOT on this element, and do NOT appear on any other element in the model.

Question: how can I get the stress/deflection on a node (other than the end nodes) within the element?

Many thanks.

I don't think you can in CAESAR II, you would need to install additional node points between nodes 10 and 20.

The only nodes that exist are the ones you define. If your model consists of a single element runnng from 10 to 20, then you only have those two nodes. If you want the stress or deflection at some point between 10 and 20, you'll have to put a node at the desired location.

alan-tucson,

To insert a node within the element, use the 'Break' (Ctrl+B) function. The input screen needs to display the particular element being split.

This is not to be confused with the 'Insert Element' (Ctrl+I) function.

Bend elements will have generated a midpoint, if configured for the bend, or at specified angles for intermediate nodes in the bend.
