Hi I am a new user of CAESAR II (as probably you can tell from my question :-))

I am trying to increase the element length by deleting a node. How can I fill the gap by connecting the previous node with the next one?

Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards
Khalid

First thing: trying to read the manual .
Second: talk to your senior or someone with experience, because I think it's the first time when you use the program .
Third try to use the SEARCH function .

Dear Marian

Interesting that you make a series of assumptions and become upset. Be well.

You can delete an element. Then manually edit the from node of the next element for connecting them. For increasing the length change the dx, dy, dz as usual. remember, there is another menu called renumber which may be useful for you.!! There is a list function also. Insert menu is another one if you wanted to insert one element. Break menu is for inserting a node.

Thanks very much Shiny Mathew.

I have followed your advice to get the effect I wanted; i.e

- delete the element

- Go to the next element and change the 'from' node # to the 'To' node # of the previous element.

-Increase the length of this next element to recover the length of the deleted element.

Where can I find the renumber menu?

To renumber the model, or just parts of the model bring up the LIST menu (the icon is at the lower left corner of the window). From this menu select "Elements".

Once the element list is displayed, "block" (highlight) the section of pipe you want to renumber. (You do this by click and shift-click in the gray left index column.) Once the block is defined, right-click to obtain the context menu, then select block-operations. Answer the prompts from here.
