Hi friends

I use CAESAR II v.5.
i have a problem in CODE COMPLIANCE EXTENDED REPORT for HYDRO TEST load case. i don't know why i give 0 percent (CODE STRESS TO ALLOWABLE STRESS RATIO) every time and for all model in HYDRO TEST load case.

Please help me to solve this problem.

Thank you in advance,

What is the value of the allowable stress in that load case?

I have problem in use of all materials for example A105, A53, GRP. and in Hydro test load case the value of allowable stress is 0.0.

I think if you copy your SC value in Sy for all the materials then the problem will get solved.

Else in Load Case, select Hydro as occasional.

And for mateials like A105, A53, GRP, may be you are trying to use them for out of temperature range.

Hi Amiri,

If you enter the yield strength (Sy) of the pipe material used in the

allawble stress auxiliary window, you can get the allowable stress for

hydro test case.

Is it required to get code compliance report for hydrotest load case.

Thank you friends for your attention,

I use B31.1 or B31.3 for analysis criteria.

I should be mentioned that i didn't have this problem with CEASER II V.4.4 in the similar projects.

Thank you in advance,

Prior to Version 5.00 CAESAR II treated the "hydrotest" case as an occaisional event, and used whatever the active Piping Code instructed for the occasional allowable. This decision was made because a number of Codes don't address the hydrotest case or are not clear on exactly what the hydrotest allowable should be.

Many users took issue with this behavior. So in Version 5.00 we changed CAESAR II to base they hydrotest allowable on Sy (depending on exactly what the active Piping Code requires). This means that as of Version 5.00, you have to have Sy defined if you want CAESAR II to perform a "code compliance" check for the hydrotest case.

1. CAESAR II is a software package used to evaluate fatigue loads. What is the fatigue allowable for a one-time event?

2. If something fails during hydro, it is replaced. So, by definition, everything in the system that is put into operation has passed hydro. Why do you need software to tell you that?

3. Many aspects of hydrotest stress analysis are more easily done by hand, such as support loads, hydro pressure hoop stress calculations, etc. Software is a tool, not a crutch.
