You can't analyze "composite pipes". The best you can do is account for the lining weight (using the refractory option).

The lining is assumed to not contribute to the system stiffness. No analysis or checks are performed on the lining.

actually,

The linings on the pipework do not contribute significantly,
I suggest reading up on what the two (PTFE/GLASS) exactly are.

For me, i generally ignore the PTFE linings (Within reason)
However, i have found assesing glass lined pipework to be the hardest things i have done. if you are doing glass lined pipework, good comunication with the vendors engineer is a must.

in practice VERY GENERALLY SPEAKING I model (excluding weight factors) the CAESAR II model is as per the pipe, and the stresses are reduced to suit the vendor

The ANALYSIS is complex and again, good research and a good vendor are invaluble

For once, i am wary of detailing exactly how one should asses the stresses, i do it my own way and i spend an excessive amount of time ensuring all parties (Client/Vendor/Employer) are in agreement with my methods.

Hope this helps

Hi,

In my experience(only for glass-lined pipe), using CAESAR II or any other piping stress anaysis program is not recommended.

The best way is to be consulted by manufacturer. It means the manufacturer know very welll how to calculate and install pipe and PTFE bellows and supports. And they have some guidelines for installation of pipe.

So I think you'd better to contact a manufacturer.

Below site will give you a bit of information.
