Dear all,

Just two questions,
1. I was working on a system, at a node, two connection are coming out from main pipe. CAESAR gives warning SIF can not be cqalculates. Then how to Calculate it? Cons CAESAR is not calculating the SIF.

2. As per B 31.3, SIF formulas are applicable if, Pipe is having straight run of atlleast 2D on both side. If two connection are within 2D, then we have to give special consideration. How to calculate those SIF anf I think CAESAR also doesn't consider this...

1. Caesar II won't calculate the SIF for a cross. You can trick the program by offsetting the branches so that they come in at two different node numbers, spaced very close together. But 2. Caesar II won't consider the 2D rule as you stated.

Otherwise, if you have a different way to calculate the SIF for the cross then you can enter them into Caesar II, once for each element, all on the intersection node. Leave the TYPE field blank if you do this.
