Hi all. I have been using CAESAR II for about 1.5 years now but I have just recently found this board. Glad that I found it though.

My first post is regarding the sturctural steel modeler in CAESAR. I have used it to model guides and impose it onto piping systems for support stiffness. However, can CAESAR solve the support (.str file) by itself with imposed forces and give out a stress report... or further more, conduct code compliance check like NF requirements? I have tried running static cases with the structural modeler but the stress output are all zero's. It does however provide the displacements and forces.

Thanks

Ed

The analysis of a "structural only" model produces displacements, forces & moments, and restraint reactions. Stress values are initialized to zero.

The evaluation of structural members implements interaction equations, stresses are not computed directly. The only such evaluation provided with CAESAR II is the AISC Unity Check procedure. You can find this off of the "Analysis" menu.
