I am trying to model a flexible with Caesar. Has anyone got experience with this? There is an FRP option for orthotropic material that requires Axial Modulus of Elasticity, Hoop Modulus of Elasticity, Poisson's ratio of the strain in the axial direction resulting from a stress in the hoop direction and Shear Modulus.
Is this the right option to use?
Information from manufacturer include torsional stiffness (limp and stiff direction), axial stiffness and bending stiffness. How do I make use of this parameters?

All right I'll bite what are you referring to when you use the word "Flexibles" do you have a url to show us said Flexible?

Americans and the folks in the UK are after all separated by a common language English.

Okay basically a steel wound reinforced, elastomeric hose....

My first thought is why model something like this? Flexibilty analysis is usually for stiffer or more delicate piping systems.

CAESAR II as well as all other beam element programs will not be able to replicate your hoses properties well.

Please look at this thread... http://www.coade.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=911&page=37
