Hello,

I am missing one point in understaidng the algorithm followed for Hanger design. Need someone to explain.

The spirng is designed using the "Restraint weight case" adn "Operating case" results i.e. the HOT load and Travel respectively. Then the spring selection routine is run an appropriate spring is choosen.

Then for running the general load cases i.e. Operating, Sus & expansion with hanger into consideration, the installed load values arrived from the above runs is used. But is it the THEORETICAL installed load or the ACTUAL installed load value that is used here??

You're right, it is the theoretical installed load. If you want the actual, there is a switch in on the "hanger design control" dialog to request the calculation of actual installed loads.
