Hello,
I am currently working on several system including large diameter ducts. In general there is a 140" (~3500mm) duct submitted to 750° F temperature. The relation D/t exceed by far the code limit of 100.
So I am thinking about my options to properly analyze those ducts. I know that CAESAR will have trouble predicting the stress intensification factors of bends and connections. I also expect some trouble to predict 2D and 3D stresses, for example evaluate the concentrated stress in a support saddle. Will I have some issue evaluation expansion joints too?
I am searching for PRG solutions, like FEATools and FEPipe, but I don't know if those software will fully attend to my needs.
I hope someone can help me to better understand CAESAR limitations on this kind of analysis.
Thank you already for the attention.
