Dear all
I modeled one nozzle using Full WRC 297 and Vessel Model
My nozzle node is 10070 and the vessel node is 28040, the vessel is vertical with z as vertical direction and x as the nozzle direction:
The nozzle flexibility results are as following :
"WRC NOZZLE NODE =10070
VESSEL Dmean(in.)= 147.559 VESSEL THK. (mm )= 62.000
NOZZLE O.D. (in.)= 30.000 NOZZLE THK. (mm )= 35.000
AXIAL TRANSLATIONAL STIFFNESS ( kN/m )= 1221557.
LONGITUDINAL BENDING STIFFNESS (Nm/deg )= 37105796.
CIRCUMFERENTIAL BENDING STIFFNESS (Nm/deg )= 1075448.
ANGLE BETWEEN NOZZLE & VESSEL CENTERLINES(deg)= 90.0000
LENGTH (L) (mm ) = 8235.497 THICKNESS RATIO = 1.771
CAPITAL LAMBDA = 17.084 SMALL LAMBDA = 1.581
WRC NOZZLE NODE =11070
VESSEL Dmean(in.)= 147.559 VESSEL THK. (mm )= 62.000
NOZZLE O.D. (in.)= 30.000 NOZZLE THK. (mm )= 35.000
AXIAL TRANSLATIONAL STIFFNESS ( kN/m )= 1221557.
LONGITUDINAL BENDING STIFFNESS (Nm/deg )= 37105796.
CIRCUMFERENTIAL BENDING STIFFNESS (Nm/deg )= 1075448.
ANGLE BETWEEN NOZZLE & VESSEL CENTERLINES(deg)= 90.0000
LENGTH (L) (mm ) = 8235.497 THICKNESS RATIO = 1.771
CAPITAL LAMBDA = 17.084 SMALL LAMBDA = 1.581"

The problems that i am getting two different results when analyzing the nozzle loads using the global restraints output and the local restraints output
Using the global :
10070 Flex X; Rigid RX; Rigid Z; Flex RZ; Rigid Y; Flex RY
FX kN FY kN FZ kN MX kN.m MY kN.m MZ kN.m
-34.79 -0.6 -15.33 -1.841 66.112 -1.567

Using the local :
10070 Flex X; Rigid RX; Rigid Z; Flex RZ; Rigid Y; Flex RY
fx kN fy kN fz kN mx kN.m my kN.m mz kN.m

34.79 -34.79 0.00 1.84 -1.84 0.00

The results are contradictory, but i think the local restraints results are more logical since i have Flex Rz and flex Ry.
I have also checked the local element forces for nodes 10070 and 28040 and the results are as following :
Node fx kN fy kN fz kN mx kN.m my kN.m mz kN.m

28040
-34.79 0.6 15.33 -1.84 -66.11 1.57
10070
-34.79 0.6 -15.33 -1.84 -66.11 -1.57

and the surprise that there is no forces/moments difference whatsoever between the two points!!!

any explanation would be appreciated since i am lost there

Did you define the Nozzle Flex twice? It seems to me like you did, since you "nozzle flexibility result" show the same nozzle twice. That may have been the problem.

Is it bug in CAESAR II ??
If it is bug somebody shall confirm how to proceed with the bug.

Those local loads look bad.

You say the nozzle is in X and the vessel is in Z (vertical). Do you have any other pipe connected to node 10070? Was Z always "up" for this model?

I suggest you send this model in to SmartSupport for a closer look.
