Can anyone confirm whether in the recent revisions of AMSE VIII div.2 fatigue stresses are calculated different than the "max.3D shear stress" in CII? if so, how could we assess a fatigue situation by CII?

There is a large documentation section on the CAESAR II fatigue implementation in the User's Guide. The section starts on page 927, and the equation details begin on page 938.

Dear Richard,

thanks for your response

page 927 in CII's user's guide version 2013 is about flanges. "Fatigue analysis" discussion starts from page 1079. I only asked for clarification on if the "max shear stress intensity" would be still valid for using as fatigue stress despite ASME offering different fatigue stress formulas in its recent issues.

Sorry, I was using Version 2014. I don't believe you can use the Maximum Shear Stress Intensity as a fatigue stress. I'd suggest the methodology outlined in the CAESAR II documentation.
