I am presently analyzing a PSV outlet line. PSV is mounted on one knock out drum . The outlet is vented to a flare stack which is far away from knock out drum . Because of which the PSV outlet line runs around 150 m before rising upwards to vent stack. The run is not straight , but broken into 4 horizontal legs . One leg is of 65 m, other of 75 m and balance two legs of 5m each. Further these legs are inclined at 45 degrees to each other in horizontal plane.
We want to superimpose thrust forces at each elbow ,the query is how to calculate the PSV thrust forces at each elbows ?
Whether the thrust at PSV outlet location would remain same when it reaches the elbows ?
