Dear all,

Sometime around compressor bottom-bottom nozzle, struts are provided in skew direction. What is the benefit? And how to decide the angle?

Regards,

Van

Are these adjustable rigid struts ?

If so, they are usually used for pipe alignment and position control.

Base on design guideline, it is adjustable type.

Is there any benefit beside pipe alignment from stress view point (such as reducing moment)?? And how to decide the angle in the calculation?

Position control of piping is fundamental to control of forces and moments at for example, a compressor nozzle. The orientation of a single strut would be a function of the direction of control needed.

If there are two or three struts involved they would normally be orthogonal to eachother, but may be at any sensible angle to the pipe axes.
