Dear Seniors,

I think most of us just select the pipe support from pipe support standards. Is there anyone check whether the support loads will damage the support/pipe?

Please share the method how to check them as well.

And some companies' support standard has allowable loads for certain supports. Does it mean the exceeded loads will damage the supports?

Support Standards are designed for quick selection of supports to be used. These supports are checked against loads mentioned as allowable. If Support loads are exceeding these allowable then we need to check them with some other methods..(eg. local stress check for pipe, FE analysis etc.)
