Dear all,

I have one question regarding the stiffness.

What will be the impact of stiffness on support, if we will increase or decrease the stiffness valve?

Kindly share your views and knowledge.

Thank you very much.

Regards,

I think you mean stiffness of support, right instead of stiffness of pipe.

No support is infinitesimally stiff, if you indicate an anchor CAESAR II picks a large number for stiffness of that support (i think it is 1E12 lbf/in).

If you know(compute) stiffness of a support such as a structure then, you can get its benefit in the thermal expansion case. Additional stiffness will absorb the thermal growth.

Please note that if you change the stiffness in the Configuration file, this will change also the anchors stiffness (e.g. flanges if you use anchor with cnode) which you don't want. Better to change the stiffness only in the restraint field.
