Is there a special tool for checking the forces on a pump's nozzles? I remember using the "Nozzle Lmt Check" during training, but one of the senior engineers I'm working with thought he remembered another way; one that uses API 6.10?

I have attached my pump mock up (it may be a bit over done) if some one wouldn't mind checking to see if I got the Nozzle Lmt Check set up right... I remember being a bit confused about it during training and can't find the notes about it.

Thank you.

You can find the "API-610" module off of the "Analysis" menu.

Is this analysis some thing to run after the model is run? It want to open a ".610" file and I think I want to create a new one, but don't remember much about it.

Looks like we touched on it Friday and I fell be hide that day due to the test.

Oh, and I'm getting an error for the elements that I am trying to use the Nozzle Lmt Check on. Error #239E: "On Element X to Y the first nozzle Node is not a boundary condition node." What am I doing wrong here?

The API610 model that you built before should still be on your PC. Open that and run it again.

---------

To get all the signs right, you must define your nozzle as a boundary condition (an anchor or a set of 6 displacements/rotations). Apparently, the node you called out as a nozzle to be checked is not a model boundary.

I don't think I have built any on this computer before. How do I start a new API610 Model? I can't remember. '~'

Thanks! That fixed it. I don't see that checkered arrows though... not sure if that means anything or not.

----

Do I need to remove all Errors before I can edit my Load cases? I've been running the error check but the Load Case button is still grayed out. oh, I guess I can test this one out myself. Ok ya. There we go.

You can start the API610 processor from the CAESAR II Main Menu - Analysis. (Don't confuse this complete (i.e. Annex F) outboard processor with the newer, in-line nozzle check that provides the checkered arrow.)

Yes, any error check red note must be removed before the load cases may be accessed.

Be sure you are really dealing with a pump built to API standards and not an ANSI pump.

When I click the API 610 option it give me an "Open" window... I guess I could find and open a file from another job and re save it... but it would be nice to remember how to start a new one.

Write the name of the file you want to create. It will say that it can not be found and will ask if you want to create a new one.

What are these "Table 4" values that the API 610 Output talks about?
