Dear all,

Please advice regarding "Thermal Bowing Delta Temperature"

Let say we have some lines in one model. Some lines have thermal bowing and Some lines no.

Click -> Main menu >> Enviroment >> Special Execution Parameter >> Thermal Bowing Delta Temperature

As far I know: Special Execution Parameter will be "applicable" for "entire model"

Is there any method to apply thermal bowing for lines have thermal bowing only in my case?

Except we splitt the model?

Calculated the äquivalent moments thats come from thermal bowing effect in this line.
Gives this moments at the beginn an end node in this line.
And you have this what you want.

Noted Richard,

Thanks Ohliger,
I found this formula in our forum >> Moment=alpha * (Delta T/d) *E*I

Please advice again
*Did you mean only at two nodes (begin-end)?
*How to apply if we have line-bowing w/ two closed systems by three anchors?
*I think the moment shall be applied in lateral axis of the pipe..CMIW

1.The moment at only 2 nodes (begin-end ) are then ok, if you dont have a restraint between this nodes.
2. Do you have some anchors in this pipe leg , then you cant this with moments simulate. In this case give a force (equivalent the moment) in the mittle between 2 anchors .
3. The moment/force direction an axis must be accord with the thermal bowing deflection.
Thats mean is the pipe down side colder, then the pipe direction deflection is: + vertical. Then must your force also +vertical or you horizontial moments must be simulate (direction an axis)the same deflection.

Let say for instance:
Lines 28" supported each 10 m.
Overall length 200 m.
Three anchors (0 m, 100 m, 200 m position) so then we have two closed system.
Each system has one exp. loop (so we have two exp loop).

Please advice again..in terms inputting method of F&M and in which nodes..

You can to enter the forces at the position 50m and 150m.
This is correct if the support between the anchors are +vertical restraint.

If the support between the anchors +/- vertical restraint, then you must give forces in the middle all supports.
