I just had a discussion with another stress engineer and we're debating whether to add a margin on loads output from CAESAR

I was told that the program automatically adds a margin on the calculated loads and because of that we shouldn't be adding a margin on top of that as civil will typically also add a margin.

Is this indicated anywhere on the CAESAR II documentation?

Please let me know your thoughts on this.

I do not think that CAESAR consider any margin on loads output.
As per codes some factors are considered in the calculation. These factors of safety are not the margin on loads.

CAESAR II does not add any margin.

I don't think Caesar-ii adds factor on the calculated loads and neither it is indicated in the documentation. It's on the analyst's decision to provide an increased margin on the calculated loads for structure design. I suggest you must have a prior agreement with your civil group or support designer whether adding such factor is necessary or not for safety reason.
