I am having trouble adding a dummy leg to a bend. I have a bend coming from the Z direction going into the Y direction. My understanding is that the leg element is suppose to attach to the down stream side of the bend. My bend element number is 135 so im trying to attach the element to 134 but my bend angle disappears. I tried connecting to 135 as well and my angel disappears. Please help....thanks

Do this way...node 90 to 100 select bend right...90 is vertical +Y and 100 is +x ....110 small spool of pipe connecting from 100

if you see Bend properties..Angle 1 M Node 99
Angle 2 0.0 Node 98

now create small pipe spool.....with node 200 to 210 ......200+Y upper node and 210 face -Y going down....add restriant 210 as anchor/+y etc in CNode say 99...that's it you got bend with dummy leg.

spool pipe 200 to 210 with Cnode joins at Bend M point node at 99.

I think the Bend Middle Node ( Node corresponding to Angle1 ) is not 134.
Also, might be the problem lies in node numbering, Node 134 might have been used somewhere else in the file.
To Avoid this kind of problem while modelling, keep a sufficent gap between two consecutive Node Nos.

To resove this problem :
Uncheck the Bend at Node 135 and Recheck Again. Use the Node Corresponding to Angle1 to model dummy leg.

Geometric modelling is one aspect of this, but have you considered that by attaching a dummy leg you may have removed the flexibility of your bend and changed its s.i.f. ??
