Dear All,

Please clarify my doubts.

When doing stress analysis for frp piping, for a 120m long GRP straight pipeline of Dia 900ND with pressure 3bar max, temp 45deg max.
In order to control Axial displacements,I provide 3 anchor supports at appropriate area. When checking my restraint load,
it shows too high (410000 in z dir and -z dir) How to overcome this problem.
Instead of anchors, I tried with +/-Z supports, then also, there is negligible reduction of loads. And also, I tried with providing expansion joints, considerable reduction to 160000N.

What is the allowable anchor load for supports for GRP? Upto what load, structural member can carry or shall be taken care.

Is it the only way for providing expansion loop or expansion joint.
The displacements is very less in all directions, and too' Is there any condition to provide guide supports. I didnt provide any guides. But the displacement are quite good.

Please guide me in this situation.

If you are using BS 7159 You can calculate allowable loads on anchor using BS 7159. If more than one anchors are used in a straight line make sure to calculate buckling load to be with in allowable.
