Maybe the idea is not new but how about a book based on the forum posts? A compilation of posts plus additional clarifications, sketches, notes and so on..

Danb..

That's too good an idea!!

I'm with you!!!

But for that the utility & the correctness of the posts need to be validated which would be a tough ask!!

But we should find some way out...No doubts in this!!

May be Richard/Dave Diehl can help us in compilation.

Keep Smiling..

It always helps.

I do not know.

Some were validated in the forum.

Maybe a small color code (a dot or square on the side)
- green for generally accepted
- yellow for accepted by some but rejected by others
- red for generally rejected

But important is that generally the posts reflect our job reality.

Regards,

I've been thinking of this for a very long time. Unfortunately I don't know of anyone here at ICAS who has the time to do this.

Dan...

A poll would be good to know the Vox Populi of the forum!!!

But the tedious task of validating the posts is the main concern...some posts may be misleading or may contain incorrect info...this needs to be validated by a person with proven credentials.

But how is the question??

Further, there are several duplicate posts on same subject which needs to be eliminated!!

One thing is for sure: We definitely need help of Moderators of this forum Richard/Dave/Loren for this task!!!!

Keep Smiling,

It always help!!!

I support this idea and suggest that all of us could help. If each willing member extracts/identifies posts related to a single topic (as we would do when we do our searches, but a bit more thoroughly) and sorts them +/- per validation level, it would give a good starting point to the moderators to check and finalise.

Instead of a book I imagine it rather as a "Forum Index" linked to individual or groups of posts.

By providing links to the various topics sorted in logical order (similar to the Caesar's Technical Manual, or Course Notes) it would eventually save the moderators' time as it would provide a better search function.
