I have a question about how to handle the following: a new system is installed in the summer, and is in operation during the summer. Then during the winter, this system is shut down and started again. How do I reflect this shut down case in Caesar?

A quick thought, change your installation (ambient) temperature.

L1=W+P1+T1(OPE)
L2=W+P1+T2(OPE)
L3=W+P1 (SUS)
L4=L1-L3 (EXP)
L5=L2-L3 (EXP)
L6=L1-L2 (EXP)

T1=ope temp
T2= min ambient temp (winter)
