Dear specialist:

As for the stress range factor(f) in formula 1a and 1b, page14 and page16, ASME31.3-2006, normallly the default value is 1.2 in CII for thermal stress checking. If the LOAD CYCLE is considered, the f must be defined by CYCLE number.

But in LOAD EDITOR of CII there has a instruction say :Load cycles are only used for "fatigue" type load cases.which means that I can't use f to modify allowable thermal stress for load cycle.

So my question is : in CII, whetehr it is possible I just use available f value to checking LOAD CYCLE case since there hasn't special note for fatigue analysis in ASME31.3 and I don't want to study fatigue curve.

You can enter cycles in the load case definition for (EXP) stress. CAESAR II will calculate f for you as you wish.
By the way, f defaults to 1.0. You must push it to 1.2 as we do not check for that high strength limit.
