Dear Friends

i am new to pipe stress analysis.

i have a query regarding the spring design.

can anybody tell me the conditions in which dead weight is equal to hot load/cold load of the spring ?

The default hanger design typically performed assumes the dead weight is equal to the hot load. Check the discussion on Hanger Design in the Technical Reference for details.

But In Caesar II 5.10 technical Reference Manual......( chapter 3, Page 44)
It says--
Hot Load is operating load and cold load is installation load...
please clarify.....
