Hi All,
I did stress analysis for High pressure steam line. The pipe route is quite long and be anchored only at 2 points. It was successfully tested at design pressure and temperature. However, the displacement during testing not exactly per Caesar II report. Now the client want justification why some node indicate reverse displacement and most of the nodes are displaced not exactly per Caesar II displacement report. for your information, Maximum variation between actual and calculated displacement is about 2 inch.
MY question is
1) Is it normal situation in piping design.
2) What is the factors that contributed to this issues.

Thanks & regards
Rosdan.

There really isn't enough information here to provide an answer. Can you send the model in to techsupport@coade.com so we can look at it?

Basic Assumptions: a linear, elastic model, small displacements, small rotations, overall behavior dominated by bending. If any of these assumptions are invalid, then so are the results.
