Hi,

During analysis I have inputed 1.825mm of Erosion allowance.
But when I check it for Hoop stress it is calculated based on the thickness considered & not the reduced wall thickness after erosion of pipe.

Can anyone advice me on this topic?

How/Where did you define this "erosion allowance"?

Hi,

I have defined erosion allowance in the place where we define corrosion allowance.

The B31.1/B31.3 Codes state that corrosion is to be removed from the Section Modulus before making the stress calculation. Therefore corrosion has no effect on the system until the M/Z term is computed for the Code Stress.

Corrosion is considered in the minimum wall thickness calculation, and that is where the errosion and mill tolerance are also considered.

If you want to see this in the hoop stress computation (which doesn't affect the Code Stress), change the setting of the Configuration Directive (in the Stress Section) "ALL_STRESS_CASES_CORRODED" to "true".
