Hello,

I have a model with a large number of restraints that I have analyzed without the effects of friction. I would now like to analyze with the effects of friction taken into consideration. I updated the Mu field in the CAESAR II configuration, but the results did not change. Is it that only new restraints would be affected? I have over 1600 and would like to avoid manually entering the COF for every restraint if possible? Any help is appreciated.

You are correct, the value of "mu" in the configuration is for "new" restraints only. This will not affect existing restraints.

(You could have done this before building the model, then used the "Friction Multiplier" in the Load Case editor to ignore friction.)

The fastest way at this point is to use the "Restraint List" to put friction on those restraints.
