Dear all,

I am using Caesar ii 5.2 build 100122. I use 'mm.fil'.
I input dy=-17500mm(node 110 to 120),but the coordinates list tell me that the node 110 coordinate in y dierction is -28397.4mm,and the node 120 coordiate in the same direction is -45897.398mm, the difference between them is -17499.998mm,different with -17500mm. See attatched bmp file.

can any body tell me why?Though the difference is only 0.002mm.

sometimes i input rigid weight data, the data i input will automatically change to another data very very close to the data i input.

I want to know the reason why caesar ii do that? Is it the result of using 'mm.fil'?

Thank you!

You don't get that many digits of precision.

But, yes, you are correct. Your variance is related to your units.

CAESAR II holds data in US units. If you use other units, your units are converted to US units, processed, stored, and then converted back to your units in any display.

I doubt your pipefitter is worried.

Thanks for your reply!

It's a small problem, and it doesn't effect anything.

I raised this question because it seems a little bit strange and i doubt if there is something wrong which i don't know behind it.
