Try ...\Documents and Settings\All users\Application data\...

You can get the Umat1 file from the place , where have installed the caesar.

C:\Program Files\CAESAR II 5.10\System

Thanks Ravanan,
I could locate this file in ver.5.10.
But in 5.20 there is no such directory or the file.

You guys aren't reading the documentation !

Prior to Version 5.10, the "\system" directory is located below the program directory. However, since most people install to "C:\Program Files", so that means you end up with this:

"c:\program files\coade\caesar ii 5.xx\system".

The purpose of "\system" is to hold files that "you" may want to alter, so you need full access rights to this directory. But this violates the current "Microsoft / Security / IT" thinking. So for Version 5.20 and later, we moved "\system" to the Microsoft recommended location - which unfortunately is different between XP and Vista.

As of Version 5.20, "\system" is located below %allusersprofile%. On XP this will be:

"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\COADE, Inc\CAESAR II\5.20"

and on Vista this will be:

C:\Program Data\COADE, Inc\CAESAR II\5.20.

Unfortunately, some XP setups "hide" the "\Application Data" directory. The only way to get to the "\system" directory in this case is to type in the location in the address bar of Windows Explorer (thank you Microsoft)."

This "relocation change" also affects the "\examples" directory as well as the valve/flange library file directories, and the "\backup" directory.

Thank you Richard.
I could locate the file umat1.bin for ver.5.20

I have one more query.
I would like to check this database file to confirm whether all parameters of all applicable material in my project is available, if not, to add the details wherever required.

For this can I print the umat1.bin and if yes, how to print this.

with regards

You would use the "Material Database Editor" (found under the \Tools menu). I would suggest that you avoid printing "all materials", this would be a huge waste of paper.

Just look (using the "Search") for the materials you need.
