Hi

I have some question about the stress checking between static analysis and dynamic analysis.
According to load case combination of dynamic analysis, it shown the S1 (represent load case from static analysis) and D1 (represent dynamic case).
If I need to find stress in case of water hammer. I have to combine the W+P1 and D1 isn't it?

The above combination is for Steel pipe. But for Plastic pipe (FRP) by refer from UKOOA, what is the recommended combination.?

Thanks.

You want to combine "static operating" with your "dynamic event". So if your static operating case is "S1" and your dynamic event is "D1", then you want to setup your dynamic combination case as:

" S1 + D1 "

Usually "ABS" because it is more conservative.

What different between SRSS and ABS.?
Please advise what is the minimum lenght of pipe run which have to input the force. I understand that the pipe lenght is one criteria to generate the pressure wave.

Thanks
