I'm facing a problem with CaesarII 5.2 when I open an existing file or even a template the whole application closes, I tried to re-install Caesar same problem exits. When I create a new file it works fine, my problem is only in opening a file from previous version however ver 5.2 templates causes me same problem. But on some other PCs CaesarII 5.2 is working fine (they have same configuration & performance). One machine was working fine, suddenly the same problem occur.

Please if someone can help me in this...

Please verify that you're running the official release (and not a Beta version) of 5.20. You can check this on the Main Menu - at the lower right the build should be reported as 090430.

This problem was discovered and corrected in early April. This behavior is caused by having detached or floating windows open in the Piping Input when this module is shut down. As I said above, this has been corrected in the official release of 5.20, but if you have a Beta version you don't want to shut down with floating windows open.

The only recovery from this problem is to delete the Registry key for the 5.20 Input Module. To do this, start REGEDIT and navigate to:

"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\COADE, Inc.\CAESAR II\5.20\PREPIP\Settings"

Below "Settings", delete the (entire) "CAESAR II" key.

I have the official release of 5.2 090430, it didn't work also after deleting the Registry key for the 5.20 Input Module.
I found a way to open a file without any problem but this is not a solution. Just open an example module (that comes with software) then open the your file, this way it will work.

Is there another solution?

Can you tell me where your data folder is, is it a network drive or something. There's nothing else that would cause this problem - nothing gets set by opening a 5.20 example that remains set while opening up an older job file.

It might be best to addresses this via e-mail (the back and forth communication would be faster). Also, if you generate the 1st e-mail from the "Help Menu", it will include a lot of your system information (OS, memory, and video) details that we usually ask for.
