hi
can any body guide me about type of restraint on nozzle of vessel or pumps or exchanger if we assume that there is no thermal growth of nozzle.

Unless you think there is some flexibility in the vessel shell, simply anchor it.

thanks moverZ, confirming me. I have also one more question, if we give support to a horizontal pipe and use U bolt to bolt it. Will we take anchor as

+y & x if pipe axis is in Z axis?

Sicne the u-bolt will prevent upward movement as well as lateral movement, use FX and FY. I assume it's a non-gripping u-bolt.

If you use +FY when the pipe cannot move up, you just introduce another non-linear element which slows the solution time due to iteration.
