I am dealing with a piping system with design temp. of -20/320 and the design code is Stoomwezen. as you know it is impossible to consider more than one temp. case on Stoomwezen, so I had to create 2 separate files and thermal stresses on both jobs were ok. I just want to know how can we take the stress range case (from -20 to 320) into account or is it even necessary?

regards

The reason CAESAR II can only handle one temperature vector when implementing the Stoomwezen Code is because of all the data necessary to define the creep and yield allowables.

The way around this would be to obtain the strain between your two temperatures, and input that into the temperature field. So, get the alpha from 320 and subtract from it the alpha at -20. This is your "expansion alpha". You can put "alphas" in the temperature fields (see the HELP for details), which should allow you to perform this analysis.
