Would it be possible for the Axial stop restraint arrow to be coded on the Grapghics display as 1.5 times pipe diameter.

Currently, axial stops are exactly the same size as the pipe and are not visable in the normal course.

I know we can change the size of the restraints, and that a full restraint check is usally performed.

But, running 50% through a calc only to realise that a line stop has been missed is really annoying.

Cheers.

Tim

Hi,

In my limited experience I faced the same problem.
I used the "Traslucent Objects" view to see my axial (limit) stops.
Also some people do their modellng in silhouette to avoid the annoying problem of getting a restraint wrong.
But having an larger arrow im sure would be helpful.

Tim,

Can't you do that with the block function while you are looking at the list?

I like my models to "flow" properly, which makes the report much more readable.

On numerous occations, i have wanted move or re-sequence a portion of the model "say a branch" to
another part.
This is difficult using the block command.

Besides the advice above, you can select a larger restraint symbol by selecting "Larger" or "Largest" from the drop down menu located next to the restraint button. You won't see the whole restraint, but in most cases you will be able to see the edges of the cone, which will give some indication as to direction.

Also, 5.10 has an option to draw every restraint the same size, similar to selecting a font size in MSWord.

Just for guidance, the restraint sizes used are:

<font FACE="ARIAL,VERDANA,HELVETICA">
<table align="left" border="1">
<th>Menu Name<th>Percent of Normal</th>
<tr><td>Largest</td><td>400%</td></tr>
<tr><td>Large</td><td>200%</td></tr>
<tr><td>Normal</td><td>OD less than 2", then diameter, otherwise 3*log(OD)</td></tr>
<tr><td>Smalle</td><td>50%</td></tr>
<tr><td>Largest</td><td>25%</td></tr>
</table>
</font>

At the moment, the LIST does not permit moving blocks of elements. If you want to do this, you have to do it in two steps:

1) Copy the block, renumber and reconnect if necessary.

2) Delete the original source (of the block).

There are a lot of reasons why block moves are not permitted, but once Version 5.10 is released we will revisit this idea. We want to allow this operation so that we can move parts of the model graphically.

This is not possible in Version 5.00 (or any prior) version. We are looking at allowing this in Version 5.10, assuming we can get the error processing down correctly. (For example, your example of copying T1 into T2 is perfect, but what happens if you clicked on the wrong column and dropped T1 onto P1, or OD? Should we allow this? What about entries you made as opposed to duplicated entries? We are still contemplating this whole process.)
