Stupid question time.
I do know this forum has a search facillity, which i used before i ask this question.......

What happens to the pressure thrust in a long flexible hose?

I assume that althought the 'hose' is flexible,
The wall is still able to transmit the axial tension caused by the pressure.

I just can't visualise what is exactly going on.
confused any ideas?

Chineese finger puzzle time.....

The braid in the hose goes into tension and takes up the longitudinal sustained pressure force.

However like in the Chineese finger puzzle the hose will elongate slightly until the braid is in full tension.
