It's even harder (no, it's damn near impossible) to convince them that the a line that sees, say, 15 psig steam at 750 F for steamout and then operates at 900 psig, 400 F, should NOT have design conditions of 900 psig, 750 F.
Or that there's any economic advantage to putting a relief valve in a pump discharge line where the operating point is 1800 psig and the pump shutoff head is 2750 psig. Or even, once you DO convince them to put the relief valve in, to CHANGE THE LINE DESIGN PRESSURE to the relief valve set point +3%.
