Hello to all.

In my calculation according to B31.8 VIII code, the error checker result shows the following warning:

"User entered value: on element xx to yy the allowable stresses are not specified properly, the required pipe thickness can not be computed".

According to B31.8 Chapter VIII, the only elements required to perform hoop stress check are the Design Factor F1, the Specified Minimum Yielding Stress (SMYS), and the temperature derating factor, all of them correctly specified in the "Allowable stresses" section of input spreadsheet: SMYS 415 N/mm2 in relevant box, F1 equal to 0.72 in "Fac" box, and T in T1 to T9 boxes, all equal to 1.

Can someone help me to understand why the error is displayed?

Thanks in advance,

P72

The quickest thing to resolve this would be to open a Support Request on SmartSupport and send the job in to Tech-Support.
