Hi.

I'm performing a WRC-107 calculation on a ellipsoidal head and I saw that, in the report, the program considers the Vessel Diameter as being " 1,8 * ID ".

Can anyone explain me why the program don't consider the original internal head diameter to perform this calculation?

Best regards,

Guilherme

Hi, Guiherme.

Crown radius = 0.9 ID per UG-32 D of VIII-1.

Diameter = 2 x radius = 1.8 ID.

PV Elite is using this diameter geometry to conduct WRC-107 analysis.

Wish above helps.

When the connection is on dished end, PV Elite determine its spherical radius per Code as explained by S K Tan, and then do the local load analysis for nozzle to shperical vessel.

WRCB-107 covers local load analysis on cylinderical vessel and spherical vessel.

Hope it is clear...
