Hi All,
Can somebody help me understand as to how does PV-Elite carry out stress summations while carrying our WRC107 analysis?
My query is directed particularly towards calculation of Pm+Pl (SUS) and Pm+Pl+Q (SUS).Per my understanding, this should be calculated by algebraic summation of Pm and Pl at each cardinal point on the attachment(e.g. Au,Al etc. in WRC-107 notation) the longitudinal and circumferential directions and the grater of the two selected.
Pm+Pl+Q should also be calculated in a similar fashion.

However, the program outputs for my case don’t seem to agree.

Can somebody please expalin?

Dear friend
One can compute in excel by using following guidelines.
The principal stresses are to be obtained from each stress component (sig-x, sig-y, shear stresses) and stress intensity as per your theory of failure (Tresca or Von mises) can be evalauted.

The stress concentration Kn and Kb shall be omitted for evaluating Pm and PL+Pb

The bending (6 Mi /T * T) shall be added (subtracted) algebraically with membrane (ni/ T) at component level before computing principal stress.
