Wondering if anyone out there has had any modeling experience with multiple pipes in a pipe rack supported from roof trusses? Structural designers report that center truss deflection is 3/4" with snow/ice loads. This will adversely affect piping in the rack which drop down to equipment connections. I am thinking that the solution will require trapeze steel supports for the piping with spring cans on each side, rod supported to the roof trusses. Has anyone modeled systems like this before? Comments? Alternatives?

In the offshore world, you have to consider external movements to hulls onto the piping.

First option is to use two or more fixed supports between it and the roof, and enhanced flexibility between those two fixed supports and the roof. Higher real estate cost.

Second option is spring supports. Higher nozzle loads (maybe).

Third option is an expansion joint or flexible line. Failure prone.

Fourth option is hyspan ball joints. High cost.
